Jody Hoffman’s in-depth knowledge of health care financing, health care delivery systems, and health data and privacy standards coupled with knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes has driven client successes in the health care sector for over twenty years. Jody works extensively on all aspects of health, including reimbursement and coverage policy and health data privacy and interoperability rules through the directing far-reaching legislative campaigns and coalitions to guiding client product pipeline assessments and strategies to ensure patient access to managing regulatory proceedings and organizing grassroots mobilization. The focus of Jody’s work is to look after client’s current and future business lines responsible for growth and innovation within the health care legislative and regulatory frameworks.
In addition to her client work, Jody worked for the past four Democratic Conventions on the podium operations team that provides backstage organization and operation support for the speakers and daily program at each convention. Jody has been an active volunteer for the Capital Area Food Bank, helping to address hunger and nutrition, issues that are fundamental to health and welfare in the community in which she lives and works.
Jody previously worked for over 20 years at the government affairs firm Wexler | Walker. And, before that she served on the Clinton/Gore campaign’s Health Care Advisory Group coordinating a grassroots network of health care workers in support of the Democratic health care reform approach. As a health policy advisor for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) she provided expertise in crafting the organization’s health care position; developed and coordinated political strategies to advance key positions and represented the organization before state legislatures and the public.
A recognized expert in health policy financing, Jody has participated in studies on the impact of the Medicare hospital prospective payment system (PPS) on home health and nursing home utilization, indigent care, and long-term care. This work has been published in several texts and periodicals.
Jody holds a B.A. from Grinnell College and a Masters of Science in Public Health Policy and Planning from the University of California at Los Angeles. Jody lives in Bethesda, MD with her husband and beloved, aging, dogs.
