Kevin Cochie
Kevin S. Cochie has had a distinguished career spanning three decades, with a rich blend of public and private sector experiences in the military and defense industry. Leveraging his extensive expertise in defense acquisition, systems engineering, and political and government affairs, Kevin has consistently propelled material acquisition programs forward through adept executive leadership and the effective development and execution of strategic initiatives.
Kevin retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, where he excelled as a helicopter pilot and acquisition officer, earning qualifications in the MH6 Littlebird and MH47G Chinook. His military service included impactful roles in Army Special Operations, ranging from platoon leader to company commander at the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR). Kevin's diverse experience also encompasses defense acquisition assignments in Special Operations, culminating in his role as the legislative liaison for Army Aviation, collaborating closely with the U.S. Congress to shape the future of Army Aviation programs.
Transitioning to the private sector, Kevin held pivotal roles in business leadership, including serving as Vice President of Washington Operations and Special Programs at Nammo Inc, the U.S. legal entity of Nammo AS, a global leader in advanced ammunition and energetics products. He successfully spearheaded engagements in the National Capitol region with Department of Defense customers and Capitol Hill lawmakers. Kevin later assumed the role of Vice President and General Manager of Erickson Helicopter’s Defense and National Security business unit, overseeing the growth, operations, and sales of defense maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for DoD aircraft.
His journey continued as Vice President and General Manager of FLIR Technologies' airborne sensor line of business, where he managed four manufacturing facilities, led 300 employees, and handled a P&L exceeding $300 million. Kevin played a pivotal role in guiding the business through acquisition by Teledyne and subsequently overseeing the integration of the two companies across airborne, ground, and maritime operations.
In his most recent role, Kevin served as Chief Strategy Officer and Co-CEO of Hoverfly Technologies, a leading provider of tethered sUAS systems for the Department of Defense and government agencies. Here, he was responsible for developing and executing a growth strategy that propelled the company from an early to late-stage startup.
Kevin earned a B.S. in Design Engineering and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida, complemented by an MBA from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business. He actively contributes to academia, serving on the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business Dean’s CIRCLE advisory board.
